How to Start Data Bundle Reselling and Airtime VTU/Printing Business

Olatuja Oloyede

Things to Know before You Start Your Business

  1.  Know that this is a business (not a scheme or a referrer platform)
  2.  You need your phone, a bank account, and a phone number to run this business
  • A phone to process orders for your customers
  • An bank account for your customers to pay into
  • And a business phone number to be contacted on when your customers need your service

How the Business Works

Data and airtime reselling is a business that can be done on phone... For example, on MTN, you buy 1g for 480 and resell to your customers at any price... Let's say you sell for 10 persons at #600 or #800 or #1000. If you sell at #600 for 10 persons daily, your profit will be #36,000 monthly If you sell at #800 for 10 persons daily, your profit will be #96, 000 monthly If you sell at #1000 for 10 persons daily, your profit will be 156, 000 daily This analysis is for MTN alone... Other networks have their own price list.... Now, you can see that your profit is not just the knowledge but your customer base... How many people you are able to sell to determines how much your profit will be....

I always encourage everyone to know this and do this business pending the time you get a well paid job... And who says you can't do it along side your work.... I'm working presently and at the same time I do this business to earn extra profit I will love you to get in here and learn.... You are always free to ask me private questions.

So let's start...

To buy and resell data bundle... You have to buy at the wholesale (or company) price, fix your selling price and sell. You are likely aware I sell 1g MTN for #800 .... But I buy at #480 and make at least #320 profit per customer. Now I will give you a site to do this.... Write this site down somewhere safe (may be your jotter). Sometimes I sell my 1g for 600 and make the profit of #120

The name of the site is www.clubkash.com/buy

However, you can always visit www.techlink.com.ng to visit the site and other great sites too.
Write this down in your jotter.... Ensure you don't miss any spelling so as to avoid errors. Now on a chrome browser or Firefox browser, open the site now. You may use any browser but avoid using opera mini
(It is an automated site in partnership with network providers). On this site u can do 5 basic thing...
  • Sell data bundles
  • Sell airtime VTU
  • Airtime Printing
  • Send bulk SMS
  • and subscribe your Cable TV (Like DSTV, GoTV. Startimes)

STEP ONE: REGISTER

You must be a registered member before you can make transactions. Registration is absolutely free but please, ensure you input the correct details. You must use a phone  number and a password you can easily remember. Don't just forget your password and phone number... That's important...

Step two (Log in)

You must log in  with your registered phone number and password. As a registered member you can now start sellingdata, subscribing gotv etc, selling airtime, sending bulk SMS for people... If you have issues registering.. Kindly notify me please...

As I said earlier... You can do the basic telecom businesses... But the question is how... Now I'm registered... How do you go about it? Take time and stroll down the site... Just survey to get yourself familiar with the interface.... Now to buy data for yourself or for customers, you must have money in your wallet or your bank account.... It is from there that the cost price will be deducted.... What I mean is this, if you are buying 1g, 480 will be deducted from your wallet or bank account.... This means that your customer must have paid you before you process any order.... I will advise you not to sell on credit except you can trust that customer... I usually advise my students to have money in their wallets before processing a particular order. So if you want  want to deposit in your wallet, how do you go about it?

Step 3
HOW TO DEPOSIT IN YOUR WALLET

As a new member, you won't have money at present in your wallet so you have to credit it first. The money you put in your wallet will be used in the purchase of any item on the site. Can you subscribe or buy airtime on someone's number? Yes, you can. For example, you buy Glo airtime for #96 naira and resell for #100 or #110 depending on you and your environment.... You buy 1g on MTN for #480 and sell for #600 or #800 or #1000 depending on you and your environment..... But you need money in your wallet first. So you have to click on deposit money just below your wallet (0:00)
Enter the amount you want to deposit
On how to pay.... Please, chose the ATM option only
You can deposit between #100 to #49999 only using the ATM option. To learn this perfectly... You have to visit the site simultaneously with this training. Click in deposit money.. It will take you to a page where you are to enter your card details.. You can use flutterwave or interswitch payment gateway... They are both secured means of online transaction.... If you've withdrawn from ATM or POS before, then you've used interswitch.  Be rest assured that all transactions are secured...
It will ask you how much you want to deposit and how you want to do so if you click on deposit money. Now you must enter the amount to deposit... The least you can deposit is 100, the highest is 50k. Click on pay now...
You will be taken to a page where you are told to input your details...
This is how your card number is

The expiry date is like this...

The cvv or cvc code is usually the three digit behind your ATM

After entering the details correctly....You will click on pay... It will take you to the last page where you will be told to enter the otp sent to your phone

Please take note.... An otp (one time password) will be sent to the number connected to your account to ascertain if you are the one trying to make the payment

The message is like the one in this message

All you need to is to copy the code into the box.... And click on pay now. If you selected inter switch... You will see a box like this... Enter your otp and click on pay...

You will be told that your transaction is successful and you will be redirected back to your wallet where your money will reflect...When you see payment successful... Please ensure you are fully redirected before you close or leave the page

Now that you have money in your wallet...

You can now buy airtime, data bundle, subscribe your gotv, dstv, startimes etc. One interesting thing is that purchase is instant... Transaction on the site is automated. You get it within seconds of purchase...

How to Place Orders

To buy airtime, data or send SMS, you will see these options under quick links or useful links....

Click on it...Then you will be asked to select which cable u r subscribing on... May be Dstv, Gotv or Star times... You must select one, You will chose a plan as well... Like under gotv, u have gotv value, gotv max, gotv plus
.. Look at the buying price (which is the cost price)... Then you can fix your prices at your own discretion. Get the customer's IUC  (the decoder's number that is specific to each decoder...) Just like no 2 persons can't have the same phone number, no two decoder have d same IUC.... It's usually written under the decoder. Once your client provides you with the correct details... Olatuja Oloyede

Welcome to the Third Lesson

We want to specifically welcome you to yet another training section with us. We hope you have been following all the previous classes so far. Please if you missed the last two training, you can revisit them here so as to stay connected with the flow.

What is CMS?

CMS is an acronym for  Content Management System. CMS manages the creation and modification of digital content. It typically supports multiple users in a collaborative environment. CMS features vary widely. Most CMSs include Web-based publishing, format management, history editing and version control, indexing, search, and retrieval. By their nature, Content Management Systems support the separation of content and presentation.

A Web Content Management System (WCM or WCMS) is a CMS designed to support the management of the content of Web pages. Most popular CMSs are also WCMSs. Web content includes text and embedded graphics, photos, video, audio, maps, and program code (e.g., for applications) that displays content or interacts with the user.

Popular CMS platforms include:

WordPress
Joomla
Drupal
Blogger
Etc

Don't forget CMS is a platform that allows you to publish or store your contents. As a new blogger/web designer, you will need a CMS platform to do the the following:

  • to publish posts, pictures, videos, musical files, PDFs etc for your audience to access
  • to manage the format of all or each publication through automated or manual settings
  • To keep record of your online postings by back dating, front dating or edit the date of any posts
  • For a careful, neat and retrievable log of your posts

In simpler concept, CMS is the hosting account you must have before you are accessible on the internet to your readers. It is the place where your site lives.

Features of cms

1 SEO-friendly URLs

You can optimize your blogs for search engine visibility like on Google or bing

2. Integrated and online help

You will receive an overwhelming assistance both on the platform and from other online experienced users

3. Modularity and Extensibility

You can control, moderate and upgrade your blog... You can make it visible, you can turn it to a full website, you can prevent people from seeing or commenting etc

4, User and group functionality

You can limit access of your site to a group, you can even turn it into a forum etc

5. Templating support for changing designs

You can change templates and customise them at will

6. Install and upgrade widgets

Widgets are plugins that gives your blog a professional out look

7. Integrated audit logs

Your blog is published in archives with dates and categories making each file easily retrievable

Advantages of CMS

  • 1 Reduced need to code from scratch
  • 2   Easy to create a unified look and feel
  • 3 Version control
  • 4 Edit permission management

Blogger Vs Wordpress

This has been a crucial source of controversy over the years as so many opinions have been aired by the users of these platforms in favour of their own experience. However, at Techlink, we are using the two and we hope to be able to give an unbias comparison of the two.

WordPress is a very popular CMS platform with plenty user base. It is easy to set up without necessary having any idea of html, css or javascript. In fact, anyone who can read or open a Facebook  can start a wordpress site easily.

Blogger is also popular but not like WordPress because it is not easy to upgrade or operate without at least a simple knowledge of coding. Those who stick to blogger without having the advance knowledge of back end design might easily be discourage with the boring and monotonous outlook of it.

Wordpress is far expensive to build.... You can use up to 20k in upgrading WordPress

Blogger is least expensive to upgrade... You can use 1k to upgrade it into a full functional website if you know how to.

Blogger is owned by Google (a tech giant and the second most valuable company in the world) so those who stick to it most likely do so because of the company that powers it. To a large extent, you can trust its safety (security) and sustainability

WordPress is relatively young when compared to  but growing fast

Blogger is the oldest cms platform still existing. Far older than wordpress, joomla or drupal

Our Recommendation

We strongly recommend starting with a blogger blog and then later you can move to WordPress

Congratulations for making it this far. In our next class, you shall be creating your first blog. Ensure you don't miss the class for anything. It is one of the most important lesson for this course. How to Publish Your E-book on Good Platform like Amazon

Olatuja Oloyede

EBook Publication

We are creative and thinking beings by creation and what we imagine can move mankind forward if only we are guided in the process of making our impart known. One of the known ways of promoting the power of intelligence is through the publication of books over the years. We can still retrieve the sound minds of great thinkers like Plato, Aristotle, Sophocles, Aristophanes, etc only because they a library of knowledge behind in the published format. It has been said that if you fail to publish, you will perish. The cost of publication can be very high and unaffordable. However, we are living in a digital age where life is aggressively migrating towards the internet. It can be argued that physical library is gradually going out of vogue and the widest range of accessible knowledge can be found online. The beauty of this is that it is free, easily accessed and safe.

What is E-Book?

A book published in an electronic form is known as e-book. They are soft copies meant to be read on mobile devices, tablets, computers etc. PDFs, Doc files, txt, Epub, kindle etc are all types of eBooks.
What you need to do before publishing!
In order to produce a relevant material that will attract good readership, consider doing the following things:
  • 1. Brainstorm: Successful ebooks are always subjected to the same principle of hard copy publication. The right place to always begin your work is to think. A flash of idea is not enough to make a powerful book. You have to think... It is in this process that you consort other helpful materials like books or resourceful people. However, I am of the opinion that great readers are not necessarily the best writers, just that they are expose to diverse shades of thoughts which could aid their perception of life. To me, great writers are those who can project a unique perspective while being aware of surrounding knowledge around the phenomenon he projects. This starts by keeping a jotter where ideas are scribbled as they come
  • 2. Write: Writing is a noble profession that requires discipline and commitment. It is not as easy as so many people think. Funny enough, some believe they can make a great book just with a single wade of the pen. Just the way you can't have an outstanding victory by the first swing of the pen, you can't produce a book by your first stroke of the pen. Nevertheless, you have to write and when you do, do so passionately.
  • Do not forget that your electronic book has to be published in a soft copy format.... So you should type your book using Microsoft word or any other software that is comfortable to you.Typeset and proof read,You have to arrange your book into befitting segments. Don't forget that good books have
  • The title page
  • Copyright page
  • Content page
  • Acknowledgement
  • Introduction/Preface
  • Book itself
  • Bibliography
  • Etc....

This aforementioned segment is not a standard by any perimeters. The kind of book you want to publish will definitely determine way you make the arrangement. Get a good book in the field you are writing on and examine the format of its publication. If it is convenient for yours, there is no crime in following it.
Nothing is embarrassing as a work full of grammatical errors. It ruins your professionalism, reduces your chances of being taken seriously and betrays the trust of those who believe in you. You have to painstaking go through your work over and over again. You should also contact trained editors to help in the correction of those silly oversights...
  • Design a cover:I've heard it said many times that a book sales is as good as its cover... In a practical world, people judge a book by its cover. They envisage the greatness of the piece by the level of attractiveness of its cover. You should therefore consider creating a beautiful cover page for your work.

A good cover include:

A catchy and creative title that will provoke certain curiosity in the minds of your readers
A good accompanying graphics that blends with the idea projected in the work
The authors name as well
In creating a good title page, if you have the basic knowledge of Corel draw or Photoshop, good for you. If you don't, that's fine... I will recommend you install Pics Art. That app is the best I've used so far in the creating cover page. If you have others, I will be glad you if you can suggest so we can learn from each other.

Convert your doc files

  • While you can release to your work into the public domain in any format, I will strongly recommend you convert your work into PDF files before publication. This will make it difficult for your readers to edit or plagiarise your work. You can convert your work from doc file to PDF even on Microsoft word. Click on save as then select the PDF extension before saving. You can also convert doc to PDF on mobile phone using WPS (an android app). You can convert files online too.

Nevertheless, you must keep both format safe either in your mail, drive, cloud, etc so as to enhance your quick retrieval when necessary

Choose an E-book platform

An E-book platform is an outlet (sometimes for financial benefits) through your work gets to your desired audience. There are safe and popular platforms where you can publish your works. Most of this companies pay you commission per sale. Platforms like:
Payhip
Smashwords
Pubiti
Kobo
Booktango
Ejunkie
Trade bit
Techlinkcart is an extension of Techlink which allows you to sell your products (books inclusive) and keep the absolute benefit to yourself. You will only have to upload the materials you want to sell and how you want to be reached by interested buyers.
You can also publish on amazon by following this link and its instructions
